Turning / Milling

The turning and milling department is equipped with new-generation CNC turning centers, such as “Hardinge, Star, Okuma”, combined with automatic bar feeders. Thanks to them, ODV can offer a turning service that can be adapted to small productions as well as to large batches.The type of machinery available makes it possible to make complex mechanical parts with a high level of constant millimeter-level precision and to carry out complex workings in a single program. Turning operations employ double-spindle CNC turns for front-back workings, with sliding headstock and bar pass of up to 32 mm, and with 5-axel multi-tasking double-spindle turns that achieve a maximum working diameter of 600 mm, for a maximum length of 1000 mm. ODV has remarkable experience in the working of medium-low alloy steels, stainless steel, and special steels (Nimonic, Inconel, Haynes, Duplex, Hastelloy), aluminum alloys, titanium, Berylco, plastic materials etc.

Countouring control / Incision:

Among its other activities, ODV also work with contouring control and incision, using a CNC pantograph with a 1300 x 1500 mm worktop that can deal with more than 120 fonts. This piece of machinery allows for the incision of various types of materials: aluminum, steel, stainless steel, plastics, wood etc. inox, materie plastiche, legno etc.


Other processes

In addition to our main activities – turning, milling and adjustment – ODV also boasts a machinery department to carry out additional or parallel phases to those involving chip removal: drilling and countersink, bar and sheet metal cutting, molding and bending, welding. For these activities, we use drill presses, radial drilling machines, Schiavi CNC saws and CNC hydraulic shears, variable-angle cross-cut saws, Schiavi Amada punching machine and CNC press brake, wire welders, TIG welders and chamfering machines.

The term “adjustment” refers to all activities that involve the superficial finishing phases and cleaning that usually take place at the end of each production cycle, with the goal of ensuring the conformity of the parts regarding roughness, esthetic profile and functional profile. Part adjustment is carried out by highly specialized personnel equipped with all the necessary tools, such as rotary brushes, files, abrasive cloths, bench adjustments, sanders, micro-grinders and buffing machines.
